Steamin Along

The truck ride to the lime quarry was really cool. It was great to be out in nature again, from a high vantage point where I could see more & this post & the next will have unedited pics to show the true perspective of what I see.  A slip that covered half of the road with a mature tree & soil  Thankfully truck drivers have a special RT channel that they can tell each other about these sorts of things, when in range of each other. There were also sheep on the road at one point. We went out to the Benneydale area to get the truck loaded with the lime, & then to the Link Road area to a farm to drop the lime off, so I took some pics of some new things, that I haven’t covered in the blog. Next morning I had planned a quick trip to deliver some prized rocks to a small elfling in Taupo…& the battery warning light in the truck stayed on when I started the truck 🤦‍♀️  Eek what to do!  It’s so good to be on the road again 🎶  There was a trip to the Millenium Hotel in Rotorua for a magical weekend experience. This experience was supposed to have happened back in 2020 but then we all know what happened that year huh. It was going to be a test pour moi to see if selling of a certain ungainly mobile home needed to be undertaken. Cest Magnifique! Recently there was a visit to see a medical person & one was told that idea of selling said beast could be forsaken, but for the want of some small objects known in the modern world as meds/pills. I’ve decided to share some of the things I see in & around Hamilton, after some advice on what to blog about from a friend recently. Otherwise I might just go all philosophy like on you😉 I needed some cable ties for the current complex costume I’m making & googled where I could get the best deal. So it’s off to The Wharehouse at The Base in Te Rapa from Chartwell. I walked to a stop near where I am based & chatted to a very helpful young man, thankful for my platinum hair which makes me more vulnerable 😂 and helps me be more approachable. Or at least it seems that way to me 😉 He gave me great instructions on where to get off & saved me having to ask the busy  driver 😅 The current app isn’t very user friendly for a newbie 😉 We had a smooth but speedy trip up through the lovely tree lined suburbs of Gordonton, Flagstaff & Pukete to what’s called The Hub in Te Rapa. One of the things I did with the money my dear neighbour gave me, was buy lunch on the way home at one of those service center places just off the motorway. Such a treat for me & I treasure those now.  Funny how we can go from Princess to pauper in life & still function isn’t it 😂  I found this interesting stand in the complex. Time to plan my next Big journey😉 It really is so great to have these free resources to help with planning. They used to be something I’d have to buy if I didn’t Belong to the Automobile Association or AA as we call them. I usually use an app to plan the specifics of a trip but am now expanding that so as to fully grasp what an area has to offer. I set off home at a leisurely pace so as to achieve making the costume I want to make in time for an event in just less than two weeks. No pressure 😂  The fabric for part of my costume @ $2 per metre that’s a steal! With good news under my belt I’m feeling much relieved & a little annoyed I hadn’t waited a little longer before getting a place on land that I’m now locked into for another six months. I’ll chalk it up to experience & use the time to make up the costumes I’ve cut out while on the road, using other people’s dining room tables 😇 You all know who you are xx And get a job fingers crossed 🤞  And home again This time has made me realise just how much I hate being restricted by walls & suburban life.  The rain: ☔️  Swans at Snells Beach  The health issues have taken a front seat lately, with a good dose of feeling blue & questioning life thrown in.
