Pauanui at Royal Billy Point Reserve

I drove on through the Tairua Forest to Pauanui. I’ve decided to stay the two allowable days at this site, to slow the travelling & rapid emptying of my wallet. I found the hole in it last month 😂 My wallet that is. Fuel seems more expensive here, or has it just gone up?

First impression of Pauanui is Just Wow! Stunningly beautiful with all demographics being tumbled together in one location.  Typically your beach resort location, this place has upkeep to the inth degree. 

The workers are really friendly, & a few of the locals are... They’re trying to get rid of freedom camping here, but aren’t being successful I’m told. Someone kindly took a pic of my shower curtain soaking outside in a bowl, in case I lose it 😉😂

I felt so safe sleeping here, even though I was alone. People are very laid back with their very expensive bikes etc & I found out why. As every vehicle comes into town, it has its pic taken by a secret camera at the entrance somewhere. I really should have looked for that as I left, so I could wave 👋 😂
