Taita to Plimmerton

Before I left Wellington I decided to go to a different branch of my home church for Palm Sunday. After finding it was being held in a really cool little historic church, I was over the moon...& May have taken a few...dozen pics 😂 

It seemed to be made from rimu or kauri wood, & had a great feel about it. So I thought I’d share it with you.

Then it was off to Plimmerton, after sitting outside the church having lunch.

Never been there, but had to stop, when I hit the wall, so to speak, for that day. When the driving has been stressful, I get really tired, & like to stop then, while my concentration is good. Has to be, driving a truck, albeit a small one.

 When I lived in Taupo many moons ago, I used to drive past this village on my way north or south. It’s set back of the road, so it’s not very visible. Today I decided to stop in for a looksee, to see what I could see. It was like stepping back in time, where time is relative & the schedule starts when  the residents get up. Getting up close & personal

 Today’s the day! Such a surprise to me when my son told me he was willing & had time to apply the wonderful sign to my truck, made for me by Cairns Printing in Australia.  Jasmine nailed the brief I had given her & went above & beyond what I had asked for. In person, if I can call it that, the sign is fantastic! I’m thrilled to bits with it 🤩 The colours are great, the size is perfect & the layers make it look 3D. It represents the fact that I’m a steampunk. Anyway, enough with the chat, let’s get to the pics! I know you’ve all been waiting patiently for this moment. Now that you’ve perfected that skill, as have I, without further ado, the procedure, as recorded by my grandson. My daughter in law helped with the installation as well. These guys are such a blessing to my life!  Beginning cleaning the area. Had to be pristine. That part took about an hour. Bus trips in Hamilton-The Orbiter

I’ve decided to share some of the things I see in & around Hamilton, after some advice on what to blog about from a friend recently. Otherwise I might just go all philosophy like on you😉 I needed some cable ties for the current complex costume I’m making & googled where I could get the best deal. So it’s off to The Wharehouse at The Base in Te Rapa from Chartwell. I walked to a stop near where I am based & chatted to a very helpful young man, thankful for my platinum hair which makes me more vulnerable 😂 and helps me be more approachable. Or at least it seems that way to me 😉 He gave me great instructions on where to get off & saved me having to ask the busy  driver 😅 The current app isn’t very user friendly for a newbie 😉 We had a smooth but speedy trip up through the lovely tree lined suburbs of Gordonton, Flagstaff & Pukete to what’s called The Hub in Te Rapa.
