Road trip pt2

After settling into the new place I went north to see friends & family & do a couple of things I needed to do. Painting of the step went well, not so much the shower tray. 

The temperature in the shower room was too low apparently 

I went in to Te Rapa tyres in Hamilton to get the pressure checked before driving & found they hadn’t gone down at all, & in fact are really good quality tyres with a good amount of tread left on them. Much yay 😃 Go chat to Ashley if you need commercial tyres.

Saw this beauty at the paint place 🤤 

I found out the best place to go for a final COF in Hamilton, was told again what a fantastic truck I have. 🤩 It’s now hard to hear those things, as I absolutely Have to sell her. The trip confirmed that. Go talk to Ashley if you need commercial tyres, he carries them😉

After the last overspray experience I’ve learned to mask off surrounding areas Very Well 🙄 

There was shenanigans! With a fabulous turnout of assorted steampunks from around the North Island. A time of frivolity & fun ensued, followed by lashings of tea & cake, in all its various modern forms…namely coffee 😂 There will be pictorial evidence posted on social media of course, but as the blog is public, none shall be forthcoming from this particular parchment.😉

Today I advertised Steamin Along for sale. It took me hours to manually put in all the details & I had a lot of trouble adding the photos to the ad. I’m not sure why but Trademe would only let me upload a few & I can’t find a way to edit it. Anyhow I consoled myself with a walk at lunchtime…very bad idea when you walk past a bakery 😂 So I bought the equivalent of a sally lunn bun, now called a Boston bun because of the shape I’m told. It’s a childhood memory for me, of a special treat we had as a family from time to time. No idea of the sized pieces a family of 9 would get 😂 but I bet it wasn’t much. I’ve been distracting myself by watching videos about cookies you can make, diy van kits, & all sorts of other nonsense 😂 ...

  Did I mention how quirky this place is? It’s arty & an eclectic mix of styles, with abject poverty & wealth standing together in unison. A most amazing & very obvious comparison. A house in a field just waiting for visitors Fabulous art in some places, including the buildings themselves A beautifully restored cottage The old & new together I just love the original dwellings of yesteryear The ordinary is necessary for the significant to stand out Fabulous Rock formations And caves 🤩 A common sight in rural New Zealand, the lone farmhouse or shed There was a Lot of water on the land from a storm A heck of a lot actually Layered rock used to make stone walls. A funny story goes with this. My cousin showed me a stone wall & I told him I wasn’t into the modern stone walls with cut rock… It’s a natural formation it turns out 🤣  Darling verandah style porches That’s a swollen stream for you! For Sale

One very well loved house truck/motorhome/camper is about to go up for sale. She’s been at the doctors recently for some overhauling of her bits & pieces. There has been a bit of this after catching a virus during the last weekend away Talk about whinge! She’s been squealing at me almost constantly ! So back to the docs & the diagnosis was for a touch of surgery on some of her parts. A bit of a facelift if you will, of her nether regions.  After the trial run to Rotorua & back there was some reflecting of events & one has to admit that the level of pain was a bit higher than we would have quite liked going forward, especially as the drive was only an hour or so long. Most time periods for a level of comfortable driving have been around the two hour mark. There has been bread making in the new oven There has also been some pain management going on in the background, & we must admit that an increase in medication doesn’t always take care of business completely....
