A little Luxury

This morning I awoke to Professor Elemental telling me about Steampunk argghhh 😬 That’s not luxury 😂 Who set that as an alarm 🙄

Anyway, coffee in hand, sitting in my wee chair now 😅

First thoughts of being land based were chaotic, & the flight impulse was very present. Finding out there’s a gang & tinny (drug buying) houses across the road didn’t help either.

The unpacking was quite quickly done, for the most part, as I had the day before the furniture arrived to do it. That helped a lot because I was able to think about where things might go. Motorhome are very efficiently designed in that respect. I’m still lacking some things, but nothing major. A few coathangars wouldn’t go astray 😂 And a sewing table, (on the way) & a chair for guests.

The first thing that I luxuriated in was to have a 5 minute shower mmm that was wonderful. No worrying about tank water levels, or scraping away excess water. Not having to climb down a ladder was helpful first thing in the morning too.

Next it was being able to put on a load of laundry, or washing as we say in New  Zealand. And a letterbox! No more chasing mail around the country!

Then to vacuum the floor ~ ecstatic 😌 sigh. Rubbish Day! No more finding bins I’m allowed to put things in! Now don’t get me wrong here, there’s huge benefits to living mobile too, the freedom was priceless, But, not being retirement age, there’s an expectation that one will be looking for suitable work in the next month. The government are putting the thumb screws back on in July, so it’s best to get in early. That in part is why I travelled extensively these past nine months.

I might watch a DVD next 😂 Actually I have an excellent TV/DVD in the truck 😉 I still need aTV table & UHF freebie box, am am hoping to pick those up when in Auckland next weekend. The other things are smaller needs.  The hardest part of being land based is so many walls that I can’t see out of, & noise from neighbours. Hamilton is a little quieter where I am, but not a lot less than Auckland. Motocross bike at 5am? Well ok then. 😂

Current guest chair, great for watching dvds, but not getting out of 😂

There’s been quite a bit of walking, catching buses, with an excellent service here I have to say. And cheap! $1.70 per ride for one zone.. I’m still finding out where everything is that I need but slowly does it grasshopper.

Today I’ll go to the Work and Income office & finish off the new look CV, ready to send off to two prospective employers. No pressure 😂  The computers are well set up and without all the rigmarole of the library system. I’ll take my lunch this time, as not having that hindered my process yesterday. 😂

Revisiting a fave series

I’ve been quite disappointed with the lack of truth that was given to me by the property manager when I first came into this place I have to say, but if I have employment I’ll be able to run the heater more, & keep warm, & or get a dehumidifier. That’s the main issue I think. Also finding the least expensive electricity & gas providers. That hasn’t been easy. Powerswitch was great for that, thanks brother for the advice. So now I’m with Powershop for electricity & Mercury for line gas. Instant hot water is great!

I may splash out & get a microwave if I get a well paying job 😂 Who knows!
