Timona Park I arrived early afternoon to a huge park with a toilet block at each end. It’s a five minute walk to each end But only 10 seconds across the roadway to the river😍  We’ve arrived There were plenty of other campers, & buses etc dotted around the park, so it was going to be a nice safe experience for me. Other dogs too, not my favourite with an  ageing deaf tiny dog, so we made sure to keep our distance when we went for a walk later. A sneak peek Sweet peas growing wild by the river. I just love that! Guess who thought it was time for a swim! Not this time my girl! The river had a raging current after the days of rain.  Sunset was a bit lame, but pretty never the less The wind was howling, but warm thankfully. Unable to have the vents up, lest they be ripped off, I settled for having the door open with plenty of fresh air circulating.  Day 2 Curtain sewing, walks & a very impressive Christmas Parade I have to say. Multiple Santa’s was a bit strange πŸ˜‚  I met another

Next stop an NZMCA park in   Marton BBQ area A communal herb garden.  Very useful So far I’ve stayed in two NZMCA parks & absolutely loved them. I’ll try out as many as I can while I travel, as I like the price $3 a night & the security that comes with them. Nice facilities in the two I’ve stayed at so far too. Great being able to dispose of rubbish & do laundry. I particularly liked the angle parking & the turn around at the end of the driveway, to make driving out easy.

And then it was off to   Wanganui   for a birthday weekend Loved this quirky house & yard in Castlecliff beach Lots of art here Such a wild storm. I skidded on the sand being blown onto the road Durie Hill Tower My view for the night How cool is this sign! Wanganui is so welcoming to house truckers & campers generally A toilet block & rubbish bin are good to have when freedom camping A good dump station is worth its weight in potable water πŸ˜‚  The upside down river that’s always brown Great views from the Tower hill Only $24 for 9kg. Best deal ever Partying at the Hangar, then back to Palmerston North again.
